How to 3D print a QR code that scans the first time
What separates a printed QR code that works from one phones ignore.
3MF or STL: which file to download
3MF is the format of modern 3D printers: it stores both parts (base and code) with their colors inside one file, so your slicer receives them separated and ready for the filament change. STL only stores the shape, with no color: you get two STL files (base and code) to load together and color by hand.
Minimum size for a printed QR code
Each little square of the code (a module) should be at least 1.5 mm with a 0.4 mm nozzle. Below that, corners round off and the code smears. The tool shows the module size live and warns you. If your link is very long, use a link shortener: less data means bigger squares.
Colors and contrast
The most reliable choice is a dark code on a light base: black on white, navy on cream, brown on beige. A light code on a dark base works on many phones, but not all. Avoid two similar colors: the relief alone isn't enough for the camera.
Single-color printer
You don't need a multicolor system. All three formats print lying flat: add a filament change at the height we show you (the top of the base, usually 3 mm) in your slicer. The printer pauses, you swap the filament and it carries on with the relief in the second color. For the table stand, print the foot separately.

Two-piece table stand
The code plate prints flat (so the relief stays crisp with a single color change) and the foot prints separately. Then slide the plate into the foot's slot, which holds it leaning back at 15°. No glue or screws; if the slot feels loose, a drop of glue fixes it for good.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free? Do I need to sign up?
Yes: making a normal digital QR code (PNG or SVG) and downloading the 3D files to print at home (3MF or STL) is completely free, with no account or email, as many times as you like. You only pay if you order a printed piece from us.
What is a 3MF file and why is it better than STL?
3MF is the standard file format for modern 3D printers. Unlike STL, it stores several parts and their colors in one file, uses millimeters as units and names each part. That's why the base and the code arrive in your slicer already separated and colored.
How do I open the 3MF with its colors in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer?
Open the file in your slicer. Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer show a prompt to import the colors from the 3MF: accept it and match each color to a filament. If your slicer loads the two parts without color, select the “Code” part and assign it the relief filament. The parts always arrive separated, so it only takes a few seconds.
I have a single-color printer. Can I still print it?
Yes. Print it with a filament change (pause) at the height shown next to the 3D preview, usually 3 mm. When the printer pauses, switch to the second color and the code relief comes out in that color. For the table stand, print the foot separately.
How big does a 3D printed QR code need to be to scan?
As a rule of thumb, each module (little square) should be 1.5 mm or larger. A short link fits on a keychain of about 40 mm; a menu with a long link needs more room, like the table stand or the wall sign. The tool sizes it automatically and warns you if it gets too small.
How do I get the link for Google reviews?
Open your Google Business Profile (search for your business name on Google while signed in) and tap “Ask for reviews”. Copy that link and paste it into the “Google reviews” tab. If you have the Place ID (it starts with “ChIJ”), that works too: we turn it into the direct review link.
How does the Wi-Fi QR code work?
The code stores the network name and password in the standard format that iPhone and Android understand. When someone scans it with the camera, the phone offers to join the network without typing anything. If you change the Wi-Fi password, you'll need to print a new code.
Can I put my logo or an emoji in the center? Will it still scan?
Yes. When you add something in the center, the tool automatically raises the code's error correction so it still scans with that area covered. Even so, scan the preview with your phone before printing, especially with very detailed logos.
Does the QR code expire?
No. It's a static code: the link lives inside the pattern itself and never goes through any server of ours, so it keeps working for as long as the page it points to exists.
I don't have a 3D printer. Can you print it for me?
Yes. Design your object, tap “Order it printed” and send us the order. We reply within 24 hours to confirm and send a secure payment link; you only pay once we've confirmed. We print it in your two colors in 1–3 business days. Prices: keychain ₪25, wall sign ₪49 and table stand ₪59, with lower prices per piece from 3 or 5 pieces.
Can you make a design that isn't possible in the tool?
Yes. For full-color logos, special shapes, larger signs or bulk orders for events and businesses, use “Custom design” or write to us on WhatsApp or by email. We'll send you a proposal and a price before making anything.
How much is delivery, and how long does it take?
Delivery anywhere in Israel costs ₪20 and is free on orders over ₪140, or you can pick it up for free in the Tel Aviv area. It usually arrives 2–5 business days after printing. We also ship abroad: we'll quote the shipping cost when we confirm your order, and any import taxes are paid by the buyer.
Is my data stored anywhere?
No. Everything is created in your browser: your link, your Wi-Fi password, your logo and your 3D files are never sent to any server. Only if you order a printed piece do you send us, by email, the details needed to make and ship it.
